The Toi Tangata Hui ā Tau 2019 will take place in Tutukaka and Ngunguru in the rohe of Ngātiwai, from Monday 4 – Wednesday 6 of March 2019. Located on the east coast of Whangarei, Tai Tokerau, the Hui ā Tau is an annual event which helps provide focus and traction for the workforce on the positive kai, wai and kori tinana outcomes for our communities.

The theme of "Navigate, Innovate, Elevate" draws inspiration from the preparation and journeys our ancestors took, to the journeys of our contemporary leaders, navigating the various systems and approaches, acknowledging the changing and challenging environment that we currently find ourselves in and how it can be navigated by collaboration, innovation and strategy to elevate the wellbeing of our people.

The Toi Tangata Hui ā Tau 2019 provides an opportunity to connect Iwi and health promoters, Māori academics, tertiary students, community leaders, youth workers, teachers, policy makers, researchers, independent businesses and health practitioners from across the motu for kaupapa Māori practices to be promoted, shared and developed.

The event offers two and a half days of thought-provoking kōrero, interactive workshops, structured physical activities and pecha kucha style presentations, which will challenge how we can successfully navigate these current times to build a resilient, prosperous and sustainable future through mātauranga Māori approaches.

With an exciting line-up of keynote speakers and workshop presenters, their contributions will challenge hui participants to consider ways in which we can move towards a future involving moe for wellbeing, Kai Māori Kai Ora, kori tinana and digital innovation while being equipped to respond to the changing times in a way that enables Māori to prosper and flourish in a changing world as Māori.

There are four ticket options available.
