Artist: Kupega Affect (feat Selina and Sale Alefosio)

Come and enjoy Tokelauan culture and language in this workshop of singing and dance performance with live drumming.
All ages and abilities welcome.

About the Artist:
Selina and Sale Alefosio are the Co-founders of the creative art entity ‘Kupega Affect’. They’re married with two children and reside in Petone, Lower Hutt. Selina has worked in the Performing Arts sector across New Zealand and internationally for over 25 years, participating in national and international events. Selina has taught various schools in the Wellington region. Sale is an aspiring writer basing his works around his unique perspective in ‘Aotearoa’. In 2017 Selina and Sale created ‘Koli with Me workshops’ for children. Both worked and choreographed dance performance pieces Whatupaepae, Lavelua, Te Leo o Tavita for Measina Festival and Pacific Dance Festival.

Tokelau Hutt Valley Sports and Culture Association is led by an Executive committee with membership of almost 500 people of all ages and across the Tokelau community. Its focus is to bring all the Tokelauan communities together and to promote and maintain the culture outside our homeland through cultural and sporting gatherings.
