Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.
This workshop will run Saturday 9 November 2019 10 AM - 5 PM.
Haere Mai, learn more about your local bush and the plants within. Discover some simple home remedies for common ailments and conditions.
Join HineAhua Tokotoko, named for her role in Rongoa Māori, and she will share with you some of the wonders of our native plants and experience their medicinal properties, a wonderful part of our heritage. Practice preparing tonics, teas and balms and learn a little about Māori traditional medicines.
Course fee includes ingredients and materials. This course contains both indoor and outdoor activities. Dress appropriately for the conditions (walking shoes, warm clothes or rain jacket as needed).
HineAhua also offers a complementary course Māori Traditional Home Remedies on Sunday 10 November which focuses on the body (tinana) rather than the plants (rongoa rakau). Enrol in both courses and you'll automatically receive a 10% discount on both course fees.
Our mission is to provide quality affordable and accessible lifelong learning opportunities for our community.
