Traditional Romanian Folk Costume

Browns Bay resident of 18 years, teacher and PhD candidate Mihaela Enache will talk to us about traditional Romanian costume, in particular the blouse known as IA. This style of blouse was painted by Henri Matisse in his painting La Blouse Roumaine.

Significant historical, geographical and cultural details will be shared about this cultural artefact proposed on the UNESCO list of intangible heritage, together with Mihaela's project of sewing an original IA dating from the end of the 19th century.
