Ever Wondered What Auckland's Rubbish Looks Like?
Trashed As is New Zealand's first artist residency program transforming Auckland's rubbish into beautiful and provocative works of art. For the past two months, six innovative and fearless artists have been scavenging the Waitakere Refuse and Recycling Centre for materials that were otherwise destined for destruction or landfill.
Join us for a weekend full of rubbish-related fun to see the completed works, upcycle some rubbish at one of our workshops and hear stories from the artists about their experience getting down and dirty with Auckland's rubbish. This is a free, family-friendly event, all are welcome. Artist works will be on-sale throughout the weekend.
This event is hosted by Tipping Point, a social-enterprise diverting waste from landfill at the Waitakere Refuse and Recycling Centre. Tipping Point is a project of MPHS Charitable Trust.
