Bio:
John Waterson was born in New Zealand and grew up within a very strict catholic family. An adventurous man, he jetted over to America and spent much of his life living in 'the City of Angels'. After returning to NZ John fashioned himself a studio from an old shed and surrounded himself with all his precious artefacts he had spent his life, up to that point, collecting.
With injections of colour, gestures of sarcasm, and nods to current affairs this radical revisionist felt compelled to make, and make he did. Each one of John's art works carry a part of him. A man that put pieces of him into his work, even marking some works with his own thumb print.
Doors open at 7pm, head upstairs for complimentary light refreshments. All the usual offerings of the Tuatara bar downstairs will be available to all on the night.
To bring music to our ears we will be joined by Latin sensation Matias Ceballos and Jazzy Wellington Duo 'Scarlet'.
