Arrowtown Creative Arts and Auckland Opera Studio invite you to an open air Twilight Opera from Puccini to Presley mostly in four part harmony, in the magnificent private setting of Birchwood Gardens Dalefield.
An ever popular event with opera lovers, combining some of the best Opera talent in New Zealand.

The Shades are four young Pacific Island and Samoan men who have either been Young Artists for The New Zealand Opera Apprentice programme or have been sponsored by the Kiri Te Kanawa Trust to further develop their talents.

Guest artist Pascale Orchard is a Wellington soprano who was one of the major prize winners at the prestigious 2018 IFAC Singing Competition in Australia. She has also recently won the Performing Arts Competition Association of NZ award, a competition held annually for the collective Operatic Aria competition winners from throughout New Zealand. This is a very big feather in the cap of one of New Zealand’s important young emerging soprano’s.

Their programme for the Twilight Opera in the Garden will be well balanced blend of solos and ensembles from operatic classics to iconic popular music and Pacifica.
An evening of quirky and humorous entertainment.

Bring a chair, picnic hamper or (pre purchase a Gourmet Picnic Hamper from Taste & Savour), relax in the beautifully manicured garden and lawns of the private garden of Margot & Bruce Robinson, designed by the well-known Australian landscaper Paul Bangay. Superb rural views and outlook to Coronet Peak, an ideal setting for the performance.

Twilight Opera opens at 5pm to give you enough time to explore the garden, enjoy your Picnic Hamper have refreshments and catch up with friends.
