Let us raise a glass for Gamay: A grape once decreed as, “...A very bad and disloyal variety” by King Philip the bold. But Gamay has managed its way from beleaguered to beloved.
Sure, it may never shed in entirety the image of Pinot Noir’s ugly relative left from history, but few varietals have landed such favor in the modern wave of wine drinking.
Join us, May 16th, for a tasting of a variety of wines made from Gamay. The line-up will include wines from the Alpine terrains of Val d’Aosta, the Loire Valley, New Zealand, and, of course, several examples from Gamay’s spiritual home of Beaujolais.
