WAI.TAI is a collaboration of musicians under the musical direction of Robyn Kamira.
Robyn and her exquisite musicians make up WAI.TAI - a fusion of world music and Maori rhythms.
Expect a journey of genres from all over the Matariki stars and beyond.
WAI.TAI - songlines are recreated, the sounds, harmonies and rhythms of traditional Maori songs & chants, fused with World music. Featuring some of NZ's most excellent musicians on stage over the past 2.5 years including Te Auripo Kamira, Kirsten Taylor, Charles Royal, Eamon Nathan, Nigel Gavin, Victoria Vigenser, Erin Manu, Krissy Jackson, Yair Katz, Janet Muggeridge, Wayne Morris, Luther Hunt, Ora Hohaia and Leonie Matoe. Others who have graced the stage as guests include Peter Jackson, Karen Jones, Tony Burt, and more.

The southern-most ocean currents converge with oceans that unite all peoples. The music honours our connections. The songs are embodied by the call of the feminine voices, earthy percussions and delicate strings. The lyrics are in both Maori and English and the arrangements are a carefully crafted soundscape. Emotive, subtle and heartening.
