Wairakei Drive Community Planting Day

Community planting day with Greening Taupo and the “Vegetator Vennell" team.

Come along to the last "vegetaor" planting event of the season, another awesome planting event is planned and everyone is welcome to join in.

Planting site is alongside Wairakei Drive on your left heading out of Taupo, Shawn has called it the 'ledge' the BBC bike track weaves its way through the site.

Please be super careful pulling in and out of site from Wairakei Drive, look out for the Greening Taupō signs.

Bring your gumboots gardening gloves & spades, please bring suitable wet weather gear if required as we will be planting rain or shine.

There will be a sausage sizzle and a hot drink afterwards for all planters. Kids don't forget your certificates to collect your sticker and if you have 5 or more stickers remember to pick up your tree to take home and plant.

With the funds raised by Shawn's amazing effort within the King of the Ring, Shawn’s vision is to use this money to replant the Wairakei Corridor (Wairakei Drive) with planting more bird attracting species and to enhance the scenic qualities as well as the ecological values of the area with a mixture of native plantings. Awesome!
