Waitangi Day 2019 in Queenstown hosts a commemoration of the Treaty of Waitangi and a huge line up of community-based performances.

Commencing the celebrations is a walking parade that will depart from Earnslaw Park at 10:45 am and arrive at the Queenstown REC Ground 11:00 am for the formal Maori welcome the powhiri supported by Arrowtown and Remarkables Primary Schools Haka Powhiri.

The afternoon continues with more excitement from 12noon including a range of traditional cultural performances from our diverse range of community cultures, ethnic food vendors, arts and craft stalls, workshops and storytelling. This is a free event and everyone is welcome! Bring a picnic blanket and come into central Queenstown for Waitangi Day.
