A Winning Hand, a pair of classy jazz vocalists Eugene Wolfin and Lauren Armstrong with a backing quartet, will engage us in a programme of classic jazz standards, hand-picked songs performed from the 1930's to 1970's by artists including: Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, Carmen McRae and Sammy Davis Junior, Betty Carter, Sarah Vaughan and Clifford Brown, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, and Tony Bennett. Tunes will include 'You're the Top', 'I've Got my Love to Keep me Warm', and 'A Fine Romance', and should bring back great memories from a very popular era of jazz from some of the best performers.
The quartet members are Blair Latham (saxophone, clarinet), Daniel Yeabsley (multi-instrumentalist), Mike Jensen (drums), and Ayrton Foote (keyboard).
Bring friends along to share an evening of fine jazz with fine musicians. Come early to get a good seat. See you there.
