This workshop shares knowledge of Māori cloak weaving through the familial knowledge and practice of Arapeta Ashton. Participants gain an understanding in the history of the practice, customary processes, harvesting, weaving techniques, and native materials.
Attendees are invited to weave a small woven piece. Core values of the workshop are nurturing whakawhanaungatanga, manaakitanga, and kaitiakitanga. All materials included.
