Creative Arts Napier welcomes you to join an exciting evening of celebration as the new CAN mural painted by Christie Wright is officially launched at White Night on Saturday 19 October 2019.

Visit CAN’s Arts Festival Installation ‘Beached Forest’ by notable artist Susan Mabin, and relax in our ‘chill out zone’ with DJ l’il b in the house.

In addition to the October foyer exhibitions featuring encaustic painting and photography, you will discover a fascinating 3D printed sculpture exhibtion ‘Organ Grinder’ by Blair Collins upstairs on the Mezzanine, and a collection of paintings, drawings, poetry and kakahu/korowai by Whatever It Takes Trust in the Small Gallery.

Satisfy your late night sugar cravings and indulge in one of the delicious $5 desserts from our ‘CAN Pop-Up Cakeaway’ menu, purchased with a coffee or delicious glass of Crab Farm Wine available all evening as a CAN fundraiser.

Raffle tickets will be available to purchase, for the CAN Fundraising Arts Festival Raffle, just $2 each or $5 for three! You can win a stylish Sarah Spence lamp, a Christie Wright limited edition print, and a Picture This Framing Gift Certificate (value $100). The raffle is drawn on 24 October and you have to be in to win!

Free entry, 6-10pm. Free maps and programme are available in the CAN Foyer. Pick one up today and be prepared!

White Night:
Inspired by Nuit Blanc in Paris, White Night offers a unique opportunity to engage with artists, musicians and performers in an open and accessible way. For one night only, Napier’s art precinct will come alive after hours with all galleries open late, live performance, interactive events, installations and artists in residence. We invite you to take to the streets of Napier and see the city in a different way, through smoke screens, laser lights and large projections.

So, gather your friends and whānau from 6pm until late for a bite to eat from local restaurants and food trucks, (followed by dessert at CAN!) and experience the diversity of art and culture in our local community.

Thank you to Crab Farm Winery for their generous support of this event.
