Don’t hibernate – embrace this winter with an uplifting winter solstice weekend at Tara Retreat in Mangawhai on Northland’s east coast!

Glen Crofskey and Nicola Bradburn invite you to their family run retreat for a short getaway designed as an “antidote to modern living” to shed any stress and reboot your system midway through the year.

Enjoy energising yoga classes, agility enhancing primal movement sessions, breathwork, a stunning coastal hike, cold water therapy, a bushwalk, healthy wholefood plant-based meals, a guided sound journey and great company!

Novice, beginner & experienced yogis are all most welcome. Arrive as strangers, be our guests, leave as friends.

Your retreat will begin on Friday evening with a warm welcome, a flowing yoga class and a scrummy dinner.

The Saturday schedule includes animal flow, primal movement and yoga sessions, a Wim Hof-style breath session and mid-winter plunge, the magnificent Mangahwai Coastal Walkway, a relaxing and meditative guided sound journey, with time set aside for feasting, resting and reading and fireside chats.

We welcome Sunday with a sunrise yoga session to get limber ahead of a walk into a lush native bush section of the Brynderwyns (and optional but highly recommended waterfall shower!) before we gather back at Tara Retreat for a relaxing fare thee well lunch.

All the meals are plant-based, made with love from healthy organic or spray free garden fresh vegetables, grown on the property or sourced locally.

$410 – Cozy Cob Cottage (handmade earth building) – Queen bed. Single occupant price $610

Fee includes two nights accommodation, five yoga and movement sessions, all healthy, delicious wholefood plant-based meals (2 dinners, two breakfasts, two lunches, teas, fruit, coffee, smoothies and snacks), two guided walks, a guided sound journey and a take home goody bag!

Excludes transport costs to & from Mangawhai.

Massage times can be arranged – options available for an early check-in on Friday for a pre-retreat afternoon appointment, or a post-dinner Friday night session, or a relaxing post-retreat treatment on Sunday afternoon. There may also be time on Saturday – we shall see! ($70 per hour)

We have timed this retreat to get the most out of your weekend and recommend taking a half-day off on Friday so guests can cruise up to Mangawhai and settle in before the evening yoga session.

We complete our time together over lunch on Sunday so that you have ample time to travel back home without stress.

This nourishing weekend will include active yoga, movement and breathing practices, and a takeaway goody bag including recipes, yoga practices to follow and a herb tea, so your restorative weekend spills over into your normal life.
