Focus on Obesity: The growing problem and impact on care in Women’s Health

As obesity increases across all sectors of society, Obstetricians and Gynaecologists need to be ready to care for our women. Come and hear about how obesity is impacting all facets of Obstetrical and Gynaecological practice and how we can tackle some of the issues.

Topics will include:
- How big is the problem and what is the impact
- What can be done to reduce obesity
- Difficult gynaecological surgery and how to improve success
- Optimising imaging in the obese woman
- Imaging the fetus and issues
- How we talk to women matters
- Antenatal pitfalls
- The Anaesthetist’s challenges
- Delivery dilemmas
- Neonatal outcomes and new approaches

Who should attend:
This is designed as a multi-disciplinary teaching day with many opportunities to engage with speakers and ask questions. The day will be of interest to all involved in caring for women including: Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, GPs, Midwives, Gynaecology and Theatre Nurses, Radiologists and Sonographers and Anaesthetists.
