This four week, hands-on beginners’ class will teach you essential hand tool skills. At the end of the course you'll take home a beautiful kitchen foot stool. Woodworking - Hand Tools (Beginners) includes an induction for working safely and efficiently in the workshop (this does not cover use of machinery).
What you will learn:
- General health and safety in the workshop
- Measuring and marking out your project
- How to safely use a range of essential woodwork hand tools
- Finishing techniques - wax or oil
The Warren is a community workshop in Auckland, New Zealand.
The Warren offers classes enabling people to learn how to build useful, beautiful objects themselves: carving a wooden spoon, or constructing a shelf. We also offer drop-in sessions where people can use the workshop independently, and ongoing memberships.
