Keen to write a children’s book, but still find getting started daunting? In a hands-on environment, you’ll complete the first draft of a piece of children’s fiction and receive feedback and constructive criticism on your writing. You’ll explore what works and what doesn’t and identify the next steps in completing your book.
When course numbers are confirmed, you’ll be emailed a writing exercise to guide you in writing the first draft of either a picture book text or a short scene from a children’s novel, which you’ll need to complete before the workshop.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have:
- Completed the first draft of either a picture book text, or a scene from a children’s novel
- Received feedback and constructive criticism on how to develop your work, from the tutor and the other course participants
- Given feedback on other students’ writing
- Increased your ability to identify problems in your own and other people’s writing
Bring pen, paper, five copies of your first draft and your lunch.
