Set in post-reunification 1994 Germany, five Kiwi high school students are on Exchange.
Exchange is about culture and identity. It explores the questions: "What is culture? What does it mean to be a New Zealander? What are we searching for when we travel?" (Introduction, Lauren Jackson)
German, Samoan and Māori languages collide in this production. Throw in some teenage hormones, youthful idealism, general gawkiness and isolation and you have a wild rollercoaster ride of a play.
Exchange was originally commissioned by the Young & Hungry Youth Arts Trust with support from Creative New Zealand
