We live in a fast-paced world and too often ignore the needs of our bodies. Women are inherently cyclical and ignoring this can be depleting and have negative effects on health.
For around 40 years a woman’s hormones, energy levels, emotions and physical sensations will fluctuate each month. Depending on life’s circumstances, these can sometimes have a dramatic impact on daily life.
Join Emma Geard, Urban Yoga Teacher and Mother, in this 2.5 hour workshop to learn more about how yoga can help to balance and support our bodies at each stage of the monthly cycle. Discover a gentle approach to promote reproductive health and overall well-being.
This workshop will cover:
- The benefits of adjusting your practice to honour your cycle
- The phases of your cycle from the perspective of western medicine and traditional chinese medicine
- General principles to guide you in your practice in each phase
- Example practices including asana (poses), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation for each phase
Whether you are totally new to Yoga or have a regular practice this workshop will give you tools to connect with your body and to honor your personal cycle!
Mats and props are provided for use but you are also welcome to bring your own.
