Calling all those passionate about zero waste in Tāmaki Makaurau. Kaipātiki Project with Auckland Council, Para Kore Ki Tamaki and the Zero Waste Guardians would like to invite you to the Zero Waste Hui and the Awards Night 2019. Come celebrate, nominate and connect!

This year it's all about going back to the future, looking to our ancestor's practices and knowledge for future solutions. We are creating an inspiring space where we can share, learn and journey together.

We will be responding to Plastics, Construction, Deconstruction, Upcycling and Food. Focused in deep-dive conversations that will help us to understand the challenges, connect around the opportunities and co-create solutions.

There will also be an opportunity for people wanting to generate income from activities to hone your ideas and structure your pitch, so let us know if this is you.

For the Zero Waste Hui we have set up a space for rangatahi to step out of the main conversation and bring their own perspectives to the table. Rangatahi of Para Kore Ki Tamaki are leading this space and have a passion to encourage the mana and voice of all rangatahi and maapu. Para Kore Ki Tāmaki teach zero waste and conscious climate behaviour within a Te Ao Māori lens, as rangatahi for rangatahi.

As rangatahi, we bring our unique perspective on climate change as we take action for our future and for the future of Tāmaki Makaurau. We are living in uncertain times with responsibilities to Te Taiao, our tūpuna and those who will follow. We welcome all of our unique perspectives as we take action for our future and for the future of Tāmaki Makaurau.

Climate Change is an overarching issue for indigenous people, the oceans that connect us and the influence we hold as rangatahi. Jump on board this waka as we take action for our future and for the future of Tamaki Makaurau.

The awards night is an opportunity to celebrate the amazing mahi that is happening in Tāmaki Makaurau, your chance to thank and nominate those in your community that are walking the talk, leaders in their field or just those ordinary everyday people doing amazing mahi around zero waste.

Nau mai, Haere mai!
Limited numbers, so book in fast.
