Have you always wanted to give upholstery a go, but lack the skills, space, equipment or confidence to give it a go?

Or have you already started on your upholstery journey and want to continue upskilling?

If yes! then join Antonia for one of her fun and empowering upholstery weekends, working on your own project.

In this practical and informative 2-day upholstery workshop, you will learn how to upholster your own simple armchair.

This class is great for either beginners or more advanced students.

Depending on the style of your project, some of the skills and techniques you will learn are:

You will learn:
- Working with webbing and comfort core materials
- Measuring fabrics and cutting patterns
- Release cuts Y, I or combo
- Back tacking with card, flex and metal tackstrip
- Sewing seat cushions, installing zippers
- Making custom piping cord
- Installing buttons

For this class you will bring along a simple project (interior furniture only) in good structural repair. The type of chair should matched with your experience. You will be asked to send a photo of your chair to confirm its suitable. Remember, be realistic on how much you can complete in 2 days with your skill level.

Some supplies are included in the cost of your workshop, such as webbing, polyester fibre wadding, hessian, calico, dustcloth, zippers, hook & loop, tack strip, staples, use of tools/sewing machines etc. The cost of foam, springs, components, fabrics, decorative elements such as nails, trim, buttons etc are excluded, but available for purchase on the day.
