Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland. This course is offered in partnership with Nourish Holistic Nutrition in their garden and restaurant at Waiuku.
Join Gautam and Rama at Nourish Holistic Nutrition in Waiuku, South Auckland, for a sumptuous, healthful garden to table food experience.
The menu:
-Hibiscus and thyme sangria - a cooler of hibiscus team, orange juice, fresh thyme, mint Granny Smith apples, raw honey and sparkling water
-Salmorejo Cordobes - an Andalusian classic! Gazpacho's richer, deeper Spanish cousin that is a cool, creamy tomato soup that transcends season
-Gormeh Sabzi - for any vegetarians in the group - a Persian bean stew with an abundance of fresh greens, garlic, fenugreek and tofu croutons, served with salad Shirazi, Zereshk polo and kashk bademjan OR
-Albondigas Andaluz for the non-vegetarians - chicken meatballs in sauce 'Costa Brava', wilted greens, mushrooms Alfredo, olives, marinated artichokes, saffron rice
-Dessert board - raw salted caramel lavender creme brulee/Moroccan lemon and vanilla gribha and Moroccan tea
Gautam will demonstrate the preparation of these dishes and there will be discussion on the nourish@every meal philosophy. The group will enjoy a convivial luncheon to enjoy the prepared dishes. You'll also get an opportunity to view the wonderful kitchen garden. Make a day of it and visit the nearby spectacular windswept beach and cliffs of Karioitahi, discover the charms of Waiuku township with its quaint museum and heritage architecture, or the Awhitu Regional Park, about 20 minutes north of Nourish Holistic Nutrition.
