Activism and Art in Aotearoa and Beyond - Becca Weber

This live-streamed panel, shared on Tempo Dance Festival’s Facebook Page as well as Choreographic Research Aotearoa’s platforms, seeks to amplify the voices of artists engaging with social justice activism, resisting white supremacy, and practicing decolonisation work in dance both here and abroad.

Choreographic Research Aotearoa.

Dedicated to research and critical practice in dance and performance, Choreographic Research Aotearoa hosts guest talks, workshops, performances and a research salon. CRA emphasises an engagement with process and dialogue, encouraging a dynamic and diverse approach to engaging with current practice and theory. Becca Weber, PhD, MFA, MA, RSME, RSDE, FHEA, THE is a Lecturer in Dance Studies at the University of Auckland. Director of Somanaut Dance, Co-Director of Project Trans(m)it, Associate Editor of Dance, Movement and Spiritualities, and Board Member for Carolina Dancer Wellness, Weber’s research focuses on somatic practices, choreography and creative practice, cognition, digital technologies, and pedagogy, and has been published widely and presented internationally.
