American Express Openair Cinemas celebrates return to Christchurch.

American Express Openair Cinemas is returning to Christchurch this month, as an exciting festival program of food, fun and flicks is revealed, with American Express card members receiving a range of exclusive benefits.

Fun
With 29 events happening at Christchurch’s new Rauora Park, at the corner of Hereford and Manchester streets in the heart of the city, the festival vibes will be in full swing every weekend with an array of alternative entertainment, live music and DJ performances before the latest and greatest feature films light up the big screen.

Punters have no need to feel lonesome on their night out, as film fanatics and doggy owners are invited to bring their K9 furry friends to any screening.

Flicks
This year’s program brings a great selection of recent box office hits and highly anticipated new releases including Knives Out (27.2), Star Wars: The Rise of Luke Skywalker (28.2), The Gentlemen (1.03, 13.3), Little Women (11.3) and Birds of Prey (22.3, 27.3)

Oscar winners also make an appearance in the sterling series of films including Jojo Rabbit (26.2, 6.3, 12.3), 1917 (17.3), Bombshell (8.3) and Joker (3.3.)

There is also a special selection of family friendly titles is included in the program including: Frozen II (29.2), Dolittle (14.3), Jumanji: The Next Level (7.3), Spies in Disguise (21.3) and Sonic the Hedgehog (28.3).

Also, on the movie menu is something a little different with this program highlight from sponsor Kathmandu: Mountainfilm on Tour on 19th March 2020 - An inspiring mix of skiing, rafting, mountaineering, expedition travel, cultural and environmental stories.

Food
Local favourites Bacon Brothers will be bringing their mouth-watering burgers to the event, with a new special every week and no event being complete without an option for those with a sweet tooth, Haagen Dazs will be providing ice cream scoops for film loving troops.

Drinks
Fear not, the refreshments are taken care of too thanks to national partners Kaiser Brothers Brewery and Giesen Wines, or try something a little different with Lillet cocktails.

American Express card members are invited to relax and enjoy the full VIP cinema experience by purchasing a ticket to the American Express Lounge. Card members will get comfortable with their own bean bag, a cushion and complimentary blanket hire as well as some tasty treats.  American Express card members also enjoy 15% off selected tickets and access to the American Express Garden to enjoy sunset drinks.
