Come to this workshop for an introduction to permaculture and an introduction to organic gardening. A 2 for 1 offer is available with this workshop.

"Permaculture is a philosophy of working with, rather than against nature; of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than protracted and thoughtless labour; and of looking at plants and animals in all their functions, rather than treating any area as a single product system."

These words were written by Bill Mollison, who with David Holmgren coined the term and developed the idea in the 1970s. The word permaculture originally referred to "permanent agriculture", but was expanded to stand also for "permanent culture", as it was understood that social aspects were integral to a truly sustainable system.

Permaculture is a system of agricultural and social design principles centered around simulating or directly utilising the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems, rather than fighting nature. These principles can be applied to the smallest home garden as well as large scale systems. Come to this workshop for an introduction to permaculture and how to apply the principles to your garden.

This course is suitable for those with no prior knowledge of permaculture or organic gardening.

Our mission is to provide quality affordable and accessible lifelong learning opportunities for our community.
