Loren Pasquier is a French artist currently living in Nelson. Through her rich, nomadic experiences, the feeling of constant transit and movement became a fundamental part of her make-up as an artist.
Understanding the importance of communication between communities, Loren has dedicated her work to bridging the gap between cultures, using her acute sense for framing stories to bring people together.
Loren is currently exhibiting Wāhine at Richmond Library. This project showcases the personal stories of five Māori women, combining candid interviews, soundscapes and portrait photography to present a series of unique meditations on being a woman in Māori culture.
In this event Loren will talk about the Wāhine project and you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the stories of Māori women by engaging with the project.
