Auckland Bonsai Society is super excited to announce our club show on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd February at the Kumeu Community Centre. It will be open to the public from 9-4 both days.

There are two main areas:
- When you first walk into the large hall you will see all the competition trees on display. Entry to this area is by door sales of $5 p/p (adult over 15)

- If you are extra keen and want to learn heaps throughout the day, come and watch the demonstrations by our International guest from Australia - Hugh Grant (from Tree Makers), our Patron, Bob Langholm and Simon Misdale (from Bonsaiville), and club members Brendon Covich (Kinben Bonsai Adventures), and Martin Walters, it is will be $50 per morning or afternoon session. (prebooking is recommended, but we will be taking door sales too)

There will also be a sales area to whet your appetite with lots of goodies for sale such as bonsai trees, pots, and books! (a couple of tables left if anyone wishes to sell anything)

We will have lots of experienced members dotted around the show, so if you have a question please don’t hesitate to ask anyone... they will be more than happy to help you!

Please contact the committee to book your place at the demonstrations, or reserve a space in the sales area if you wish to sell anything.

Just a little context.

Kumeu is a beautiful rural township, about 20km north west of Auckland City. It is easily accessible being on SH16. The surrounding fields are dotted with vineyards (Kumeu River Wines, Coopers Creek, Nobilo wine group, and Soljans Estate Winery to name a few) so pop out for a quick lunch at one of many of local restaurants.

Boric Foodmarket has an amazing selection of delicious local produce, and delicatessen foods – well worth a visit! And if you are wanting a bit of adventure you could visit nearby Muriwai Beach, or Woodhill Forest for some tramping or BMX biking. Perhaps even a visit to the Whenuapai Air Base to watch the planes... I’m sure you will all find something to make it worth the visit to Kumeu outside of Bonsai.

If you are from out of Auckland, you could book accommodation through Air BnB and stay in nearby Riverhead, Whenuapai, Hobsonville, Herald Island, or Waimauku, or a little bit further away in West Harbour etc.
