A drop of rain, fresh-water fish, a full-moon swim. What is your first memory of water? Where is “your” river? Can you taste, smell, hear it, still, after all these years? View our month-long road-side photo exhibition of eight locals.
Awa Stories is a two part storytelling project which launches with a month-long photo exhibition along 1909 - 1949 Great North Road in Avondale. These portraits feature eight locals sharing their connection to water and the awa they most connect to. This culminates in a series of videos released in collaboration with I Love Avondale. Hear their stories and answer for yourselves - what’s your first memory of water?
Accessible by bus, train. Whānau friendly.
Brought to you by I Love Avondale, John Rata, EcoMatters, Cathy Livermore, Whau Local Board.
