Zoom Teaching Retreat with Venerable Jamyang

This is open to anyone interested in understanding the mind, while it is based on Buddhist philosophy and teachings it is not a requirement to be a Buddhist.

We have the illusion that we are free – that we can chose what we do with our life, what we eat, where we go, who we are with, and so forth. This is what we think, but in reality we are not free. When we learn to know our mind, we begin to understand that in actuality we are controlled by our attachment.

Due to our attachment our mind is uncontrolled. We have expectations that are not in accordance with reality; we project our beliefs onto the world and think that this is reality itself. We keep looking for satisfaction in material objects even though we know we cannot find it there. By following our attachment we create many problems for ourselves and others.
Lama Yeshe said: “Knowing our own mind is the solution for our problems.”

In this course you will learn about the chattering voices in your head and how to relate to them skillfully. We will discuss the nature of the mind and how the mind works. You will receive tools to develop your ability to examine your mind. When you understand your mind, control follows naturally. Self-analysis is like shining a light on our inner world; it opens the way to genuine freedom.

Weekend 1 – The teachings will be on how to analyse the mind, and where to look for what is helpful and what is not.

Weekend 2 – The teachings will be on how to engage differently. for a happier life.

While it is naturally more beneficial to participate in all of the teachings it is not a requirement, you can attend each session individually.

We are asking those taking part in the online sessions to please consider making offerings to the Centre, the suggested amount is $10 per session, but we acknowledge that these are difficult times for many and do not wish financial hardship to be a barrier to you taking part in the teachings. Whatever you feel is appropriate for your circumstance is very much appreciated.

Click on buy a ticket and that will take you to the registration form, complete and hit submit, we will then email instructions and the Zoom Meeting ID to you. Looking forward to meeting you there!
