Two of Brittany's top traditional musicians will be passing through Auckland on January 11th 2020 and performing at Cafe one2one, the original and authentic music cafe in Auckland.
Tudual Hervieux and Jef Le Gouarin are here from Brittany to tutor at the NZ Gaidhealtachd Summer Celtic school. This concert is a rare opportunity to hear traditional music from the French Celtic nation. This will be their first visit and hopefully not the last.
You will get to hear the bombard a small wind reed instrument that packs a punch, the binou - a small celtic pipe, flutes and song. Breton music is for dance so expect some of that also.
If you're familiar with Scottish and Irish trad tunes and songs you will hear the similarities but also enjoy the different rhythms and emphasis.
Don't miss their only event in Auckland.
