Selwyn Community Education is based at Selwyn College, Kohimarama, Auckland.

This workshop is offered several times in 2020 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM on either:
Saturday 23 May or
Saturday 22 August or
Saturday 17 October or
Sunday 18 October

Come along and spend a day being introduced to the art of calligraphy and learn techniques to achieve beautiful lettering for stationery, invitations, signs and cards. Learn how to write beautifully using ink and nib, unlock your creativity and explore the classic art form of calligraphy in your own unique style.

Students will each make their very own Alphabet book, trying different scripts for each of the letters, and gaining a taste for the many different scripts that there are to learn. Each student will leave with their booklet from the workshop, a beautiful record of everything they have learned.

Students are not required to bring any materials. Paper and pigments etc will be provided. If you already have any tools such as ink or pens, feel free to bring these along so the instructor can guide you in using them. The tutor will also have beginner level pens available for you to purchase in the class if you wish to continue with calligraphy but these are not essential for the course.
