This is a 2 day workshop set over 2 weekends.
Discover the process of cast glass in this 2 day workshop, a great introduction to the cast glass process and suitable for beginners.
Day 1: Saturday 7th November 10AM - 5PM
Form
You will be introduced to press printing using clay, exploring with different textures and making forms that are suitable for an open cast mould. You will learn how to make a refractory mould for the kiln to fire the glass.
Cast
Glass moulds will be fired in a kiln during the week for your return the following weekend.
Day 2: Saturday 14th November 10AM - 3PM
Finish
You will reveal your cast glass from the mould and learn simple finishing techniques for your glass object.
The finished glass piece will be a small one of a kind sculpture to take home.
Price includes all materials, 1/2 kg of glass and the kiln firing

COVID -19
Workshop numbers are kept to a small group. There is plenty of space in the workshop area to physical distance. Contact information is traceable. Handwashing stations and hand sanitiser will be available at the art centre.
If alert levels change within the Auckland Region you will be notified if the workshop can no longer go ahead and a future date for the workshop will be made.
