At her studio in Diamond Harbour, Jane McCulla creates fluid textures from ceramic, suggesting geology, archaeology and human marks on the landscape over time. Jane is an experienced ceramics tutor, and in this session, she will demonstrate how she works in stoneware.
Jane has a BA Hons (1st Class) in Fine & Applied Art from the University of Ulster, Belfast, and her work is held in private and public collections worldwide. Awards received include a Portage Merit Award, 2013. She is a former Vice President of the Ceramics Association of New Zealand.
Jane teaches classes and workshops throughout NZ and undertakes private and public commissions. She makes textured, stretched, stoneware clay forms at her home-based studio in Diamond Harbour. Jane creates fluid textures suggesting geology, archaeology and humankind’s marks on the landscape, fluxed over time.
