A celebration of contemporary ceramics.
This year the Wellington Potters' Association is celebrating the 62nd annual showcase of contemporary ceramics by its members. The exhibition takes place in conjunction with Splash, the national exhibition of Watercolour New Zealand, at the Academy Galleries on Queens Wharf in Wellington.
It is a unique chance to witness a celebration of contemporary ceramics: From 24 October until 8 November (daily from 10am to 5pm, free entry), Wellingtonians and visitors to the capital have the opportunity to view and purchase the finest pieces of ceramic art. They can vote for their favorite piece to win the People's Choice Award, while also enjoying the painting-filled walls.
This year's guest artist and selector for Ceramicus is multi media artist Debbie Pointon. Debbie works in the fields of painting, sculpture, doll art and assemblage box art. She will showcase her pieces alongside new works by members of the association engaging the local community with the varied craft of ceramics.
Wellington Potters Association is very grateful to all its partners and supporters who aid in making this exhibition a special event in the Wellington arts calendar. Not to be missed.
