All the usual attractions such as, the ever popular terrier racing, shearing, live music, trade sites, home industries which includes baking, preserving, vegetables, knitting, sewing and crafts, along with the children’s entries.
Also in the Home Industries they have the decorated court section which is now open to individuals as well as organisations with the theme being “A Country”, photography, and sheep & beef – plus a host of new things to come and see like Button Nose Face Painting, to name just a few.
We are also hoping the Army will put on another great display along with the Tararua District Council and Horizons and the Civil Defence Team. We also have our ever popular petting zoo. Our Horse events will start on the Friday 1st February and carry on through Sunday 3rd February. The Show will be open to the public on the Friday and Saturday with Saturday being the main peoples day.
The trade section will of course be setting up on the Friday and Mahons will be open on Friday night along with the popular Speed Shears. Once again the trade sites will be in hot demand, with best in both trade & craft sites up for grabs. Follow us on Facebook “Dannevirke Showgrounds” for regular updates.
