Days of Ice: Gateway Antarctica Takes Over of IAC

Gateway Antarctica (University of Canterbury's Center for Antarctic Research and Study) will bring the International Antarctic Center to life with staff and postgraduate students showcasing their world leading research and providing visitors with expert insights on the wonders of the Antarctic continent. There will be activities for all the family both directly outside the IAC and throughout the IAC Antarctic themed spaces. Guided tours led by Antarctic experts will lead visitors through the galleries and provide them with new insights on how Antarctic science happens on the coldest continent. Short talks on Antarctic history, living in Antarctica and the many wonders of Antarctica will take place at key spots within the center and in public spaces outside the center throughout the day. Activities for kids will range from a Liquid Nitrogen ice cream parlor to Antarctic story time.
