Service of Deconsecration: St. Augustine's Anglican Church
St. Augustine's was built in 1960 on the corner of Riverbend Road and Latham Street in Napier. Following the news of possible earthquake risk of the building the doors were closed abruptly in 2014 and parishioners currently worship at St. Lukes Church, 194 Vigor Brown Street, Marewa, Napier.
Officiating will be Bishop Andrew Hedge and will take place in the church's entrance. In case of poor weather, the service will take place in the Church Hall.
During the service, at the request of Parishioners, there will be an opportunity for members of the Parish, past and present, to contribute a few words about the church's role in their lives.
Following the service, there will be refreshments in the church hall.
Regular Worship will continue in St. Luke's Church, 194 Vigor Brown Street, Marewa, Napier.
