Día de los muertos Palmy 2020

Palmy Unleashed is proud to bring Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) to Palmerston North, in conjunction with Youth Space and @themexichef

The festival starts at 4:30pm with a screening of COCO in Youth Space. Bring the family along! Following that is your chance to experience a papel picado workshop.

The street fiesta kicks off at 6:00pm with free entry. Although bring a bit of pocket money to enjoy authentic Mexican food (tacos de guisado by @themexichef and freshly baked pan de muerto to name a few). @DJ Carlitos is along to entertain, joined by the dancing of @ollinyolitzi and the music of @Feñalatino.

Soak up the occasion with face painting by @tati_marlo_brushes from @makingfacesnz.

The meaning of this occassion is to remember and celebrate those who are no longer with us. We encourage you to bring along a photo of your loved ones to share on our altar. This will be set up in Youth Space.

To round off the night at aprox. 8:45pm we will have the "lightning of the candles" for our traditional pilgrimage, hosted by the Mexican Embassy.

After the street festival, big kids are invited to the After Party at Libre, where cervezas and margaritas are a must.

Bring the family and join us for an amazing Mexican experience. Who knows, you may learn a new thing or two from it as well.
