Visit the home of the French Ambassador while posted in New Zealand.
This villa was built in the 19th century and purchased by the Republic of France in 1999.
As a local historic building, with its distinctive leadlight windows, theRésidence de France is an integral part of Thorndon’s heritage.
Free guided tours of the property will be held on Friday 30 October from 10am to 3pm.
There are 5 tour times available, each starting on the hour, from 10am onwards. The tour will take about one hour and the visitors will be welcomed at the gate before a specialist of local history from the Thorndon Society takes them for a tour of the house.
Booking is required (maximum of 25 visitors per tour).
Entrance is via 39 Hobson Street, Wellington.
On-street parking only (fees may apply).
