Contemporary printmaking exhibition by artists in New Zealand and The Netherlands.

In 1642, Dutch explorer Abel Tasman reached a new land in the Pacific Ocean and his cartographers named it New Zealand, after the Dutch province Zeeland. A kinship, distant in historical terms, was then born. Nearly four centuries later, this exhibition of prints by Dutch and New Zealand artists, held in both countries, offers a contemporary kinship, distant in geographical terms.

Distant Kinship / Verre Verwanten features prints by 9 artists from Grafiekgroep Bergen in the Netherlands and 9 artists from the Print Council Aotearoa New Zealand – each exhibiting artist creates work that speaks of the other country.

The exhibition is accompanied by a publication.

Opening: Sunday, 21 June, 2pm
The exhibition will be officially opened by Dutch Ambassador Mira Woldberg.
