Join Sika for a beautiful evening of deep exploration. Ancient sounds that evoke primal memories.
We'll lie down while Sika plays intuitively from his beloved collection of instruments, including several didgeridoos, drums, native flutes, rattles... foraged objects such as leaves, stones, bones and shells... and nature recordings from the Australian and New Zealand bush. The haunting 'voices' of unfamiliar instruments such as Aztec whistles and Māori Taonga pūoro add to the sense of mystery and help us enter meditative, wordless states.
Sika holds a safe space for us to drop into relaxation. Many people find the experience not only relaxing but deeply meaningful.
Sika has been offering Sound Journeys for over 25 years and has the blessing of many Maori, Native American and Aboriginal elders, including the Yuin tribe of South Australia. He's deeply humbled to share their instruments with people around the world.
Sound Journeys are open to everyone - consider yourself welcome.
There will be two journeys with an interval in between. Please bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow or anything else you need to lie down comfortably. We also recommend a water bottle and a journal.
Covid-19:
With the current move to level 2 here in the South Island, we are still safe to go ahead with this event. However, if this changes and we go to level 3, all tickets will be refunded in full by eventfinda.
