El Barrio's 3 Day Carnival Festa

An event we've been waiting for ever since we opened last May. Our 3 Day Carnival Festa (party)!

In partnership with Copacabana Productions we are excited to bring to Wellington a 3-day Brazilian Carnival Festa (Party). We have so much lined up so check out all the details below!

Most importantly, we'll be providing Caipirinha specials all weekend!

Friday 28th February:
- 22:30- Our Newly Formed Samba Band will play for the first time at El Barrio, and what better name than SamBarrio Samba Band! We will of course be accompanied by some samba dancers in traditional Carnival costumes!

- Followed by DJ Adu Adam Polaczuk playing a variety of dance styles including Samba, Zouk, Salsa, and Bachata

Saturday 29th February:
- 22:00- Maracatui band is here again and bringing together the percussion, song, and dance of the Maracatu tradition from the North-East of Brazil!

- 23:00 till late- Join us after the band with the awesome and energetic DJ +55 Lucas Ribas who will continue the night on playing Brazilian beats!

Sunday 1 March:
Brazilian Costume Party!
- From 15:00 till late we will recreate a Brazilian Carnival atmosphere with live dancing, Face painting with Making Faces NZ, decorations and DJ + 55 again playing Brazilian Carnival hits
- Prizes for best dressed!
- $5 entry for adults
- Kids enter free, & also it's our Sunday Family Funday so kids also eat for free!
