Are you a parent of a child with autism or do you work with a child with autism? Do you want to learn to support their communication skills? The Victoria University of Wellington Autism Clinic is hosting an education workshop teaching some of the strategies from the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM).

Eleanor Wilson (certified ESDM therapist and community advisor) will be running this ESDM workshop focusing on hands-on strategies for playing with toys, expanding your child's play skills, and moving into pretend play.

Tickets for this event are $25 for professionals and $15 for whānau members of children with autism. Places are limited to 35 people.

There will be one additional workshop this term:
- Promoting Social Learning (10th November)

The ESDM is an extremely promising intervention which has been used in over 35 countries worldwide. It is a play-based behavioural therapy that targets a wide range of developmental skills for children under the age of 5 who have, or are suspected to have, autism. ESDM therapy aims to accelerate child learning and teach key developmental skills through fun interactions which are embedded in daily routines and play.
