Weed Control on the Islands of the Marlborough Sounds.

This month’s Forest & Birds' talk features Rae Lerew, a ranger at DOC’s Waitohi/Picton office. Rae will be talking about her work on some of the islands in the Sounds - Te Pākeka (Maud), Rangitoto ki te Tonga (Durville), Ngā Whatu (The Brothers) and Oruawairua (Blumine).

While others work protecting the rare native species on these island sanctuaries, Rae and a team of trainee rangers tackle some tenacious weeds, to protect local wildlife and help rehabilitate the the unique ecosystems of the islands..

The talk will be at 7.30pm on Thursday 20th February at Blenheim School Hall (Seymour St entrance).
