Girls on the Road Again is a foodie and photography fully escorted tour initiative led by Jo Seagar and Lesley Whyte, all organised by House of Travel’s Pam Young.

Come join Jo, Lesley and Pam as we explore over four days, a variety of culinary cultures, make new friends and learn to take some amazing photos where we visit places only the locals know about. Come and join Jo and Lesley; on this adventure, you’ll be left with lasting memories of the stunning natural landscapes, the warmth of the local people we meet, places we visit and of course, the amazingly tasty food that we eat.

What else, when staying in New Zealand’s High Country could the cooking class menu be other than High Country Merino. This long weekend, Jo will be showing you how to prepare and cook Merino hogget bone out and slow roasted with fresh mint chutney, garlic naan breads and crispy polenta crusted roast potatoes then finish off with classic station cookhouse rhubarb buckle pudding served with cream.

All levels of photography expertise are catered for (digital and smart phones) and beginners are VERY welcome. Lesley offers a great learning environment with expert guidance, instruction and personal attention. You will leave with increased confidence, motivation, inspiration and having met some new photography BFFs.

Lesley will help you make the most of the wonderful photographic opportunities on this tour and astrophotography is one of the highlights. Low light pollution and atmospheric conditions gift the Mackenzie Country with some of the clearest skies in the world. At night, those skies glow and twinkle with such clarity that in 2012 a 4300 sq km area was declared the Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve, one of only eight in the world. There will also be abundant landscape photographic opportunities as in November the Lupins are in full bloom.

All attendees received an A5 photo journal, an invaluable notebook to make notes of camera settings plus a quick reference guide for each photography genre.
