About the speakers:

David Trubridge is internationally recognised as a furniture designer. From his studio and manufacturing facility in Hawkes Bay, he has developed a serious following worldwide for his iconic range of furniture and lighting.
Originally from England, David trained as a naval architect before teaching himself to make furniture. He arrived in New Zealand in the mid1980s after spending five years sailing from the UK with his young family and quickly developed a national reputation for the quality of his Pacific inspired design. His first major international breakthrough came at the 2001 Milan Furniture Fair when his now-famous Body Raft was selected for manufacture by influential Italian furniture company Cappellini, Since then he has gone on to produce and sell furniture and lighting throughout the world, and his work has become a staple of design magazines and publications everywhere.
