Get Real is a collaboration between Selwyn Community Education and the GetReal organisation (contact: nz.getreal@gmail.com or via their website)

Day 2: Tuesday 29 September 2020 9am - 4:30pm
Today's cause: Salvation Army food bank

Today's programme will kick off with an inspirational talk (speaker to be confirmed).

Following the talk, experienced baker and cooking tutor Nichole Fernandez will work with the children in Selwyn College's food-tech kitchens to cook healthy meals for people in need including a starter, a main and a dessert. The prepared meals will be collected by the Salvation Army to be given to families in need. Nichole is passionate about teaching children to cook and enjoy healthy food and she will teach the session with a theme of Waste Not, Want Not. In addition to learning about food preparation and cooking, the children will learn about preventing food waste.
