For an exclusive weekend, celebrated chef Giulio Sturla will be launching his latest project and new beginnings in New Zealand, a pop-up dining experience in the stunning Waterfall Bay in the Marlborough Sounds. Over Waitangi Weekend, 2020, Giulio will share his menus at an exclusive event around unique and exceptional kiwi ingredients in collaboration with Seresin Estate over two degustation meals.
A champion of New Zealand cuisine and advocate for kiwi flavours and ingredients, Giulio, 2018 New Zealand Chef of the Year, was the co-owner and creator of Roots Restaurant in Lyttelton, which closed its doors in May of 2019 after achieving numerous awards and Hats (New Zealand’s equivalent of Michelin stars). With three Cuisine Hats annually for years, Giulio is now bringing the lessons and spirit to kiwis all over New Zealand, beginning in Waterfall Bay over the weekend of February 7th.
A short boat trip from Picton (included in the dining cost) through the magical Marlborough Sounds will bring you to an exclusive paradise, a secret restaurant few visit in Waterfall Bay, a slice of heaven, surrounded by the beautiful New Zealand bush overlooking the bay, a landscape that inspires the menu and local ingredients shared by Giulio Sturla. With wine matches from the Seresin Cellar included, these multi-course degustation menus are an exceptional way to celebrate the kiwi summer with one of New Zealand’s legendary chefs, and it is a unique opportunity to taste the fine cuisine from Giulio Sturla that you won’t find anywhere else.
Realizing his dream to deliver a food experience unlike any other to kiwis all over New Zealand, Giulio aims to create food memories that will last forever. Grab your spot before it’s gone.
