Gwavas Homestead and Garden is a place of impressive history and grandeur and one of Central Hawke’s Bay’s iconic Historic Homesteads. Gwavas’ 9 hectare ‘Cornish Woodland Garden’ which is a spectacle for all the senses, with azaleas, rhododendron, camellia and magnolia, beautiful birdlife and fragrances of the flowers in bloom.

Gwavas is also home to the incredible 132 hectare Puahanui Bush, a virgin bush with Totara known to be more than 600 years old.

Enjoy a gorgeous day at Gwavas with a sit down lunch and guided tour of the Homestead, Gardens and Native Bush. Hear wonderful stories of Gwavas’ history with some plantings in the garden dating back to the early 1900s still taking prominence in the garden and bush today.
